Quick answer

What is Noorani Qaida and how long does it take?

Noorani Qaida is a beginner’s primer that teaches the Arabic alphabet, letter shapes, Harakat (Fatha, Kasra, Damma), Sukun, Shaddah and Tanween, step by step, until a student can join letters and read words from the Quran. Most children aged 4 to 7 finish in 4 to 8 months with three classes a week. Adults often finish faster.

How we teach it

Why so many children stall on the Qaida

The usual reason is speed. A teacher pushes through the pages to show progress, the child memorizes the look of the page instead of the letters, and six months later they still cannot read a new word.

We move at the pace of mastery, not the page number. Your child does not leave a lesson until they can read the letters in that lesson out of order, in a word they have never seen.

  • 20–30 minute classes for ages 4–6, so attention never runs out
  • Digital whiteboard with letter animations and colour coding
  • Out-of-order testing, so memorization cannot hide weak reading
  • Makharij from day one, because bad habits are hard to undo later
  • Stars and a visible progress chart your child can track
Quick answer

What age should a child start Noorani Qaida?

Most children are ready between ages 4 and 5, when they can focus for about 20 minutes. Readiness matters more than age, and our free assessment will tell you honestly if it is better to wait a few months.

Quick answer

Can adults learn Noorani Qaida?

Yes, and many of our adult students do. Adults usually move faster than children because they can practise independently. Classes with adult beginners are private, patient and free of any embarrassment.

After the Qaida, what next?

Students move to Nazra, reading directly from the Mushaf, then into Tajweed. Children aiming for Hifz usually start once Nazra is fluent.
